What are Company Classes?
- Our Company Program allows students to study an additional genre during the second half of the year
- (March - May).
- Company dancers will perform one routine in our region's largest dance event; The NLSD end-of-year recitals!
- Company genres are only offered in the second semester.
- Our 2025 classes are: Celtic Fusion * Rhythmic Gymnastics * Musical Theatre * Pint-Sized Pom * Ballroom
What is Celtic Fusion?
Offered to students ages 6-ADULT, Celtic Fusion is a Tap/Ballet combo class which incorporates both Scottish and Irish tradition through Music, Costume and Dance! A fun and exciting alternative to the beloved genres!
What is Rhythmic Gymnastics?
Offered to students 6-11, our Rhythmic class combines acrobatics with dance, as well as, the intricate and visually pleasing use of both ribbon and hoop props. A truly beautiful and exhilarating genre of dance!
What is Musical Theatre?
Offered to students ages 6-18. Musical Theatre Dance focuses on performance skills, dance technique, and is filled with Broadway tunes! Students will be exposed to various genres of dance during this unique program, including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, and Hip Hop. Students will learn a dance routine that will be performed in NLSD’s June recital. If your child loves to act, dance, and own the stage, this is the class to strut their style!
What is Pint-Sized Pom?
Offered to students 5-8, POM is a form of dance combining cheer motion techniques and dance technique. Pom classes are great for both dancers and gymnasts. This class focuses on the core fundamentals of basic Pom structure. Dancers will be working on Pom motions and jumps, tumbling, as well as dance technique including: turns, jumps, leaps and level-appropriate Pom choreography. Pom uses sharp and precise movements, which in turn will help to improve the student’s overall arm and body placement. Routines contain hip-hop, jazz and gymnastics elements.
What is Bambino Ballrooom?
Bambino Ballroom is an invite-only class for dancers ages 4-7 ready to expand their skills. Perfect for those with experience in other genres, this class introduces ballroom basics in a fun, dynamic setting - building confidence and refining technique in every step!
What is Ballroom?
Our students (8-18) will learn many styles of Ballroom dance. This class combines the art form of performance, along with Ballroom technique in specific styles including the Cha-Cha, Tango, and Samba. Students will have fun in this high energy class with quick footwork and Latin flair! No partner required.
When are classes held?
Classes are once a week and run from March until our June recitals.
Do I have to be a currently registered NLSD student to become a Company Dancer?
- No! Non-registered students are welcome to join our Company classes!
What is the cost?
- Class price depends on genre. Fees are all-inclusive.
DANCE CLASS ATTIRE:
Celtic Fusion: exercise wear (e.g., leggings, t-shirt, sports bra or leotard) Students will receive shoes in class.
Rhythmic Gymnastics: leotard or sports bra and leggings. Barefoot - Rhythmic Ribbon is provided.
Musical Theatre: exercise wear (e.g., leggings, t-shirt, sports bra or leotard) Students that do not already own tan jazz oxfords, must purchase them for $35.
PInt-Sized Pom: exercise wear (e.g., leggings, t-shirt, sports bra or leotard) Students that do not already own tan jazz oxfords, must purchase them for $35. Poms are provided.
